How Thoughts and Feelings Work Together
We all know that there is a connection between our thoughts and feelings. But just because they are connected does not mean they are always aligned. It’s possible to have some feelings in alignment with thought and also to have other not-so-obvious feelings that conflict with that thought. Hence, the term “mixed feelings.” Now, we know the subconscious is waiting for the message you wish to have processed. What will the subconscious do if it’s receiving these mixed signals? Another way to ask the same question is which will the subconscious follow, thoughts or feelings?
Influence of Thoughts and Feelings on the Subconscious
Go online and do a search on “the power of thought.” You will receive literally thousands of articles, authors, books, videos, classes, lectures, and so much more. All of which will state that the secret of success—however you define that term—rests with consistently controlling thoughts. But as important as your thoughts are, it is not that simple. The subconscious thought will not launch all its power and wisdom based on your thoughts. It will respond to how you feel.
Why is that true? Because it’s not your thoughts that define what you really want. You can pass any thought you wish through your mind as often as you wish. The impact of those thoughts will depend entirely on the true beliefs and feelings generated by them. That’s what provides the fuel the subconscious uses to perform its function.
The Key to Thoughts and Feelings Working Together – Meditation
Don’t misunderstand—thoughts do have a great deal of power. However, the effectiveness of that power is measured by the ability to inspire feelings. The true empowerment of the mind results from being aware of and coordinating your thoughts with your feelings.
How is that done? The most effective way is by controlling the thoughts in your mind through meditation. It’s not complicated or religious. There are many ways and sources from which you can learn different techniques. But all the methods have the same goal – to quiet the mind enough to become much more aware of what is really going on inside. Once there, you have what you need to know to align those two forces – thought and feeling.
Once you accomplish that, your subconscious communication is ready and able to do its job—bring you what you really want!
